Inbai Kim's exploration predominantly revolves around the concept of dimension, where immaterial elements such as temporality, spatiality, and movement find expression through sculptural approach. The idea driving the works in this exhibition was to select segments from a figure's profile contours that correspond to the figure's appearance from behind and bring them into existence as sculptural forms in a three-dimensional space. Once the line segments were realized as physical forms, they could be observed from multiple angles, and selected views from these angles were presented again as new sculptural forms within the three-dimensional space. In the original drawing, these lines had a hidden presence despite now having a definite existence in real space. As part of the artistic process, the lines neither intend to reveal nor conceal themselves. Instead, they embody visibility and invisibility, externality and internality, selfness, and otherness, evading fixed classifications of humans and existence while continuously engaging in polysemantic movements.
